Moldován András course platform

Project period
2022–present

Development of the Moldován András course platform began in November 2022, and its first version went live in January 2023. Originally planned as a straightforward website, it has since evolved into a continuously expanding digital education and commerce platform.

Challenge

The project started with a tight deadline, while its scope expanded substantially during development. The existing Teachable service had to be replaced with an owned platform, and the migrated user accounts and previously purchased course entitlements had to be connected to the corresponding accounts in the new system. Historical purchase transactions were not part of the migration.

After course sales, the platform expanded to include appointment booking, card and bank-transfer payments, and later the sale of physical books and merchandise. These different entitlement, payment, and fulfilment workflows had to be brought together within one commerce system.

My role

The visual design was supplied to me as PSD files; the original visual identity and design were not my work. I delivered the complete web implementation, Drupal architecture and custom modules, REST services, and the Flutter applications for iOS and Android.

My responsibilities also included migration and entitlement logic, commerce and booking workflows, and the payment, invoicing, and shipping integrations.

Solution

Drupal acts as the central content, user, and commerce system for the website and serves the mobile applications through a REST API. Within the Flutter applications, users can access the course videos they purchased through the website.

I connected the migrated Teachable accounts and course entitlements to the new account system. I integrated appointment booking into the Drupal Commerce flow, allowing consultation appointments to be paid for by card through SimplePay.

A dedicated Számlázz.hu integration supports pro forma invoices and bank-transfer payments. When physical products were added, I developed a GLS pickup-point integration that is also available as a contributed module on Drupal.org.

Outcome and evidence

The result is an integrated website, webshop, course platform, consultation-booking service, and mobile video experience. The owned Drupal backend manages content, users, course entitlements, payment flows, and physical products within one system.

The platform has been live since January 2023 and continues to evolve in response to Moldován András’s current business requirements. The working website, publicly available mobile applications, and the GLS module published on Drupal.org provide direct evidence of the delivery.
