Collabin — multilingual leave management SaaS

Collabin is a multilingual, integration-ready leave management SaaS that replaces workflows scattered across spreadsheets, emails, and chat messages with a shared and transparent system. The product launched in February 2026.

Challenge

The idea grew out of a real workplace situation: the leave management service previously used by the team was discontinued. This created an opportunity to build a sustainable solution whose direction could be validated in a real organisational environment through the needs and feedback of colleagues.

The goal was not to create a one-off internal tool, but a reusable international SaaS product suitable for teams of different sizes.

My role

As the founder of Collabin, I am responsible for product design, UX, backend and frontend development, infrastructure, integrations, and ongoing operations.

I use AI tools extensively to accelerate ideation, prototyping, and implementation. Responsibility for the architecture, product decisions, code review, testing, releases, and operation of the service remains with me.

Solution

The platform brings together organisations, teams and employee profiles, role-based access, custom leave types, balances, approval workflows, shared calendars, reporting, and subscription management.

Beyond its core features, Collabin provides a REST API, permission-scoped API keys, HMAC-signed webhooks, personal, team and organisation-level ICS calendar feeds, Paddle-based subscription management, and a dedicated n8n community node. The user interface is available in five languages.

Outcome and proof

The result is a live, self-service SaaS product covering the full journey from the marketing website and registration to the application itself, subscription management, documentation, and integrations. The case study is supported by the working product, its public documentation, and its usable integration capabilities.
